Research on the health condition of the sweet chestnut in the Vevchani Springs Nature Monument, and assessment of the need and possibility for biological protection from fungi Cryphonectria parasitica

Identification, assessment, and detailed description of the current health status of the sweet chestnut trees in the Vevchani Springs Nature Monument; Collection of bark samples from active and passive cankers for fungal isolation and further laboratory research; Determination of the v-k type of the obtained isolates in vitro; Determination of the presence of hypovirulence and the degree/percentage of presence of hypovirulent isolates; Preparation and implementation of an interactive map with the location of individual trees, presenting important data for each tree (description, dimensions, measures, and other notes), for future applicative and scientific-research activities.
