Himalayan Nature
The CONNECT project aims to enhance biodiversity and climate resilience in Suklaphanta National Park (ShNP) while sustainably improving the livelihoods of surrounding buffer zone communities. It focuses on integrated conservation and development, contributing to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including poverty reduction, zero hunger, climate action, and decent work. The project achieves this through three key outcomes: improving conservation strategies, increasing sustainable income for 1,388 buffer zone households, and enhancing interdisciplinary coordination supported by research. CONNECT seeks to make a lasting impact by addressing conservation challenges, reducing human-wildlife conflict, and strengthening local governance and community involvement.
